Grand re-opening party Saturday at Rockwall Animal Adoption Center

(Rockwall – November 8, 2012) The Collin County Humane Society at Rockwall and the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center (a No-Kill facility) invites you to a Grand Reopening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 10 at 1825 Airport Road in Rockwall.

Festivities will include a bounce house, face painter, crafts for the kids and more. There will also be a bake sale and raffles throughout the day for a chance to win gift cards ranging from $5 to $25 worth of prizes.

The Grand Prize is a weekend stay at the Marriott in Addison that includes accommodations for your pet(s) provided by Pappy’s Pet Lodge in Rockwall.

Dr. Webb of the Pet Doctor will be on hand from noon until 4 p.m. to give low cost pet vaccinations to the public.

“The city’s shelter became no-kill in Aug. 2011. A year later the facility was privatized, meaning that a local rescue group has taken over management of the shelter,” said Ashley Pickering, vice-president of the Collin County Humane Society, the group that has contracted with the city to operate the facility.

“The dogs and cats are loved because we are a group of dedicated animal lovers who are striving to make their stay with us as brief as possible while also giving them the care they deserve.”

Any pets adopted during the event will be given two days of day care at Pappy’s Pet Lodge in Rockwall. Discounted adoption fees are $75 for all dogs and $30 for all cats. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all vaccinations, microchip, Heartworm test for dogs and FIV test for cats. Bring your family and come to the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center Grand Reopening at1825 Airport Roadand meet our happy pets that want to be adopted.
